Thinking about how to establish better relations with the clients

Banners campaign in www.micoche.com

In this article we are going to study a real case of one
campaign of banners carried out by the web
www.micoche.com and his person in charge Enrique Maldonado,
that nicely has done to us to come all the details
of the campaign. The motive for which I mention of
same is the abnormal result of the same one: an index
of clic of 10 % (percentage of Net users who do
clic on the entire Net users who see the banner).

Ad Pepper.

an average valuation of clic of 10 % with a campaign
dedicated to promoting his Web place. The campaign there is
been distributed and audited by the agency Ad Pepper
(www.adpepper.com) and in his final report numbers happen

2 banners personnel is:

* The price of the campaign was of: 60.000 Ptas

* 10.000 printed Banners (sufficient to realize a test)

* You date: 1-Nov to 31-Dic (while we had a campaign

it would bear in mind:

- To lodge the banner opposite to our pubic target.

- To call to the action: "clic here". These two words
they have always to be present in the banners. Although
seem obvious, it is superverified that the clic indexes
they increase obviously on having indicated or after the clic remembers.
- I recommend also the size of the banner to be
as maximum of 10k. I have banners campaigns
cheered up, with a size of 8k. This does that they are loaded
soon and they are seen from the beginning on the page, with
that increases the answer.
- Another question is the position of the banner, it is important
that this one is in the top part of the page therefore it is
I dress from the beginning. I had a campaign in a web with
a banner in the middle of the same one, and on having put the banner in the part
Superior the index (CTR) spent from 8.25 to 11 %.
- To start with small campaigns to see the results.

I am going to present a set of ideas to you that Carlos
Barrabés -www.barrabes.com - exhibited in a recent chat.
I have separated every idea in paragraphs to which I have put qualifications.
Of course, every idea would justify a great development
wider. But the intention of the article is not any more than
to throw them on the table so that each one gathers, and
wall light, those that better serve to him. We go there!


INTRODUCTION

Barrabés, initially a small sports shop
of mountain in a pueblecito on the foot of the Aneto (the top
higher than the Pyrenees with 3.404 meters), it has happened
for all the Internet stadiums. They began his way
in 1995, with a products catalog. Since they were only

TYPES OF CLIENTS.

Carlos describes four types of clients for any

THE INTERMEDIARIES WILL SURVIVE IF THEY HAVE
VOLUME OF VISITS

The answer consists in having visits volume. If it has

many people are interested in. Finally, the visits are

As the article seemed short to me, I included as I do others
times slightly more.... in this case an interesting article of

At this point, it remains already clear for the whole world that to take
a physical business to Internet is much more that to entrust him to
an agency that develops a few web pages to us. Well. But
once we realize this well: Where to start? In what does it can
to influence the jump to the network in our way of focusing the business?
What are we going to have to change? In what sense?

We will approach the answer as soon as we consider that,
in Internet,


ALL THE POWER BELONGS TO THE CLIENT

This is clear and each of you has experienced it to
little that has sailed along the network. We can capture it in three
principal effects:
The client has access to the WHOLE world offer of the products
that looks.
In Internet there are no sentimental ties between client and provider.
I mean that, when we sail in the network we do not need to say
that NOT to no seller. We look, evaluate, compare and
we decide to buy or not. But we do not have to give explanations
to nobody. Then, the client is much freer. Or, much more
unbeliever.
The client uses the network to gather together and, this way, to improve
conditions
that it obtains of the providers. Be already by means of groups of buy,
auctions, forums of opinion or other mechanisms.

Of all that it is deduced that the client is going to find the product
(or service) that he wishes, as he wants it (design, services,
accessories, caraterísticas), at the best price and in the conditions
that he fixes (payment, logistics, service).

Said about another form, already he is not going to have to buy the shoes
that offer him in the shop "because they are those who are fashionable
this period ". No. He - each of the clients - is going to be
who defines exactly how he wants that there are his shoes
(or his software or his mortgage or his.....) and insurance than in the network
it will think who gives them himself.

Puttings like that the things, who wants to sell will have to obtain
that his offer is the best of all if he wants to be successful. But,
the best in what? for whom? under what conditions? And
immediately, the question arises strongly


WHAT TO DO BEFORE THIS SITUATION?

We have just said that we turn out to be forced to present the best
it offers. Yes, but, if every client is going to want his own product or
service: how to satisfy all of them without going crazy to me
organization?

I believe that I can give you the answer to this question. To adapt
our offer to what the clients ask us we can choose for
to modify our products or, also, for defining a profile
determined for our clients. As we modify one or other,
we obtain 4 possible strategies. I have put title to them: Conservative,
traditional, to tow and winner (this way there do not stay doubts which is
my darling).


THE "CONSERVATIVE" STRATEGY

It is the one that limits herself to beginning carrying on business also for Internet.
And it does them in such a way that it does the same that in his physical facet,
with the same clients as in his physical facet, with the fortitude of
to provide to his clients services for the network. Laudable, but,
obviously, this company does not believe that the network could do more than
to add a little of serviceability to some business processes.
This strategy goes direct to the defeat for several motives. He is not useful
the network to improve the products / services that it offers to the client.
client, on having been in the network, begins discovering offers much more
interesting and, logically, it is praised towards them. The result is
a loss, potentially very important, of clients.


THE STRATEGY "TO TOW"

It is the one that, there adopt the companies that have understood a part of the challenge.
They understand that his clients will find, thanks to Internet, offers
more fitted to his needs and that, therefore, is essential
to compete. For it, therefore, this company is ready to
to explore the new possibilities that Internet drinks to him for
to approach his clients, to investigate his desires and needs
and to develop new products or services. Namely this company
it is ready to adapt his offer to what his clients can
to indicate him.
This strategy is better that the previous one put that is opened
to change his internal processes to satisfy the demand of
his clients. I have called it "to tow" because it does not take
initiative to reinvent his business trying to be useful thoroughly
the possibilities that the network opens to him, but it limits itself to continuing
that his clients could indicate him.
The result will be also of a clients' loss for the same one
motive that in the previous case. Part of his clients will discover
better offers in the network, although, the adaptation attitude of
company will mitigate this result.


THE "TRADITIONAL" STRATEGY

It would be the one that would arise from the reflection "if Internet is global, let's go out
to the world to compete with all". The business appears in Internet
as a pure expansion of the market of the company to everything
world. I have titled it "traditionally" because it departs from the analysis of
traditional marketing that values only the participation in
market. According to this logic, if Internet offers to me resources for
to come to a clients' major base, I am going to make use of them.
Undoubtedly it is better that the conservative strategy, although his
vision of the reality keeps on being partial. This company will manage
to find new clients thanks to the network and to extend his market.
Nevertheless, this strategy is still incomplete.


THE "WINNING" STRATEGY

It is the one that there adopt the companies that have understood "everything" what
Internet implies. These companies are those who are going to act on
his products and on his clients.
With regard to the products, they are going to improve his products,
centring on what they can do better. Also they are going to retire
other products to center only on those in
that are stars.
Another possibility is that of centring only on a part of
the chain of value. Perhaps only in the design and development, or only
in the production or only in the management of the clients. And
they will find other associates / collaborators who incorporate
remaining parts of the chain of value with major efficiency than they.
In parallel, this process of aspects centring on those,
products or services in which the company is excellent, it goes to
to have to be done to center on the clients who look
exactly these products, with the characteristics that the company
it is capable of reaching port. The fact of dedicating all the resources to
to improve the best of the company, will mean that the company goes to
to be in disposition to receive clients for the whole network because,
now yes, the company is going to be a toecap in a type of solutions

THE COMPANY AS FARO OF HIS CLIENTS

CONCLUSION: WHAT TO DO?

To reach this position, sim impeded, the company
he needs to realize the efforts and sacrifices that exist already
mentioned.
He needs to define in a precise way what client's profile is
the one that it is going to have and what type of solutions is going to offer him.
He needs to center his efforts and his resources in
to specialize to generate the best solution for
clients that he has chosen. Also, this specialization
it is the only way of standing out in the immense ocean
of Internet - that is to say, of that our clients find us-.
Finally, pobablemente, he is going to have to resign, in
the first phase to part of his income on having reduced his
scale of products.
The balance between gained and lost clients will be much
favorable on having increased spectacularly the quality of
caught clients.

Article: The first Survey of the grade of Knowledge,
Implication and Satisfaction of the companies vizcaínas in Internet


During November and December of last year
2000 has realized the First Survey of the grade of
Knowledge, Implication and Satisfaction of the companies
vizcaínas in Internet, to know such aspects like
level of knowledge that they have on Internet, if they know
really the value of his web and the whole potentiality that is
way shuts up.

A previous aspect that has attracted attention of us while
we were preparing the survey it was how practically the half of
the Internet addresses that we check, to verify
if really they were real (obtained of guides and directories
telephone in role where the companies were publicized including,
between other information, his URL) they gave a negative result. In enough
the publicized web did not exist cases and in the majority any type of
problem with the servant was preventing from seeing the content.

Of the polled companies, 40 % had his web from hacía
more than 2 years and 36 % had less than 1 year (the half of
which had been realized in the 6 previous months to
the survey)

The targets aimed by the companies for the development of
his web there were fundamentally the progress in the image of
company and the sample of products or services (74 %), to improve
relation with the clients (31 %) and to extend the business (17 %)

These targets had been fulfilled for 52 % of the interrogated persons
(56 % if we eliminate the webs with less than 6 months), and 29 %
they had not been seen by compliments (32 % eliminating those of less of
6 months) The reasons for which it is considered that the web is
compliment with his targets they were by order of importance,
established contacts (61 %), the visits received so much on-line as
off-line (39 %), the facility in the tasks (15 %), the progress in
image
(9 %) and the saving (3 %)

Up to 65 % there rises the number of interrogated persons who affirmed not
to have a strategy defined for his web, the rest they had plans
partial and such projects like progress, updates, etc...,
but they were scarcely few ones those who recognized the importance
of raising a specific strategy faced to Internet.

69 % of the interrogated persons was feeling taken advice by the company
that had developed his web to them, opposite to 21 % that did not exist
been advised. Nevertheless 76 % is the interrogated persons that yes
they feel sufficiently advised in this field.

Up to 35 % of the companies they had developed the web for themselves
the same, giving like principal reason having some person that
they were thinking that it was qualified for it in the proper company (84 %)

If they think that Internet serves to improve the image of
companies, 86 % thinks that insurance that yes, 8 % believes that
enough, 3 % that serves little and 3 % believes that it does not serve. They are,
on the contrary, 75 % those who create that his web improves his
image, 11 % thinks that not and they believe the rest that rather not
it improves this image (10 %) or that scarcely the progress (4 %)

The task of developing the electronic commerce in Latin American America,
with an average of 5 % of Internet penetration the hearths,

and forming, we are actors of this big theater and we have

Perhaps the highest barriers that rise before the business
electronic, they are based, as in any incipient system
of commercialization, in the confidence that we are capable of
to transmit the consumer. Confidence that it is not possible to open
from the company, since the walls exceed the same ones,
on having been erected on the bases of the proper system that of for himself it generates
suspicion. In our days, it is still a strange way in
the one that to move. This absence of confidence turns out to be promoted, also
